About Me

Achievements and Recognition

Today, Mandar has over 250 clients. As of 2023, Mandar has also achieved the Top of the Table (TOT) award for 3 years in a row. This significant feat carries with it the most distinguished recognition possible in the realm of Financial Advisory. Simultaneously, it also connotes the highest standards and quality in an adviser’s counsel, trust, and integrity.

Currently, he is an alumnus of both the University of Mumbai, and holds a Masters in Finance from the City University of New York (CUNY).

Mandar has gleaned a breadth of experience across his professional career. Beginning by working for blue chip multinationals across India, his migration to Singapore marked the commencement of an exciting position as a Regional Manager- SAARC with Compuware. During his years as an IT Sales professional, he acquired a wealth of experience from established firms such as Microsoft, IBM, and Informatica NCR amongst others.

His personal and professional lives converged when he found his career niche in the financial industry. Apart from being a certified legacy planner, Mandar maintains a keen awareness of financial products and services. His market cognizance arises from a combination of interest, knowledge, and experience.

Mandar’s current role at Forte is an extension of his personal conviction that proper financial planning is essential in helping one achieve his or her personal aspirations. These attributes seal his position in the financial advisory domain, where he demonstrates promising results right from the start.

Public Events

Mandar is a life member of the Maharashtra Mandal Singapore (MMS) and maintains good rapport with a variety of organizations and communities including (but not limited to) the Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Kanada and Telugu associations.

Aside from being one of the speakers at an ICAI Singapore event, he has also participated in carnivals by NPS International. Furthermore, he has also played a role as a key sponsor of events such as Bandwidth Bollywood.

Mandar also served as a key member of the ‘Singapore Welcomes Modi’ event in 2015. As part of the core committee, he led the registration team of around three hundred volunteers who facilitated over twenty thousand participants at the event.

Earlier Journey

Mandar was born to a simple family in Dombivli, India, that prioritized guidance and values. He began his life in the company of educators- both his mother and his father respectively served in academia over the course of their careers.

An entrepreneurial youth, Mandar built his own businesses over the course of his early life. Ranging from media houses to interior design and other trades, he brought his flair for business across territories from Pune to Mumbai. Mandar is also acquainted with places like Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad.

Mandar recalls a time when he too experienced tumultuous life changes and uncertainty when he relocated from India to Singapore in 2004, .

“I had originally only planned to reside in Singapore for two years.

However, as time passed by, the decision to settle down in Singapore and get married was made. Relocating was a challenge in itself- attaining my Permanent Residency (PR), paying off mortgages and managing my career amongst other tasks. My own savings journey started with attempting to generate a passive income for myself.

At the time, I had not been exposed to insurance- I did not know of any adviser who could help me to plan my finances. It took a great deal of time, thought, learning and exploration on my own to get to where I am today.

Incidents such as the 2008 subprime mortgage crisis reminded me that transactional use of money might not be sufficient. I was earning a dependable salary at the time, but I had no mentor or long-term view.

I had nobody to communicate with, or to provide guidance on how to maneuver the crisis. I was happy making double digit percentage returns, but if I had had someone by my side to explain the power of investments, compounding and discipline to me, I would have fared far better in my financial journey.

Having a nine to five job and then also needing to understand the market, its direction, and simultaneously building trades was exhausting. Rather, something I did not know back then was that it was more important to have a disciplined approach such as investing monthly.

I’ve been through this journey. I understand the anxiety and risks which come with being in the market. It’s been almost twenty-two years since I started this career, and the journey has been a constant process of adapting and evolving.
